Kinesiology Taping
What is Kinesiology Taping?
Kinesiology Tape is derived from the greek words, 'kinesis' for motion and 'logia' for study. Equine K-Tape has been made using tightly woven cotton containing elastic fibers to allow for movement. Equine K-Tape has been scientifically designed to allow the horse to continue normal daily routines including turnout, ridden work and washing.
What are the effectsof K-Tape?
K-Tape has been designed for application with stretch. Considering basic physical laws, everything that stretches must recoil. Thus the tape recoils and thereby lifts the hair and skin. This is the basic effect to lift the skin allowing for fluid and blood circulation to flow easily.
Benefits
Pressure Relief
Inflammation, swelling and sore muscles will cause an increase in tissue volume which leads to more pressure in the effected area. K-Tape lifts the skin and tissues allowing pressure relief from sore areas.
Pain Relief
Tight, sore muscles have slight swelling surrounding them. Swellings put pressure on the pain receptors which is why a tight muscle is painful. K- Tape lifts pressure off the pain receptors and allows the muscle to continue to heal with a fresh blood flow.
Circulation Improvement
Proprioception improvement
supports joints
supports and stabilises muscles
